The Available Car Wilne 10k, taking place in Draycott in September, is one of the biggest events in the region, attracting many international standard athletes and this year is proud to be hosting the Midland Counties Athletics Association Championships, the Derbyshire Athletics 10k Championships and the Leicestershire & Rutland Athletics Association Championships. The Available Car Derby 10 Mile, taking place at the iconic Derby Arena on Pride Park in November, is now the second biggest event is Derby attracting thousands of runners. The official charity is Annabel’s Angels. Whilst runners are encouraged to support the official charities, runners are welcome to fundraise for their own motives.
Over the years, hundreds of runners of both races have reported having achieved a PB thanks to the flat and fast courses which ranks both events as the flattest 10k and 10 Mile courses in the country.
Richard Kennedy, General Manager of the store at Castle Donington, said: “Wow!! What a fantastic opportunity for AvailableCar to be the headline sponsor for both of these local events.
The upcoming Wilne 10k is 2 miles away from our Castle Donington site, with the Derby 10 Mile only 6 miles away, therefore I am really looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces as I have previously ran in events with the RaceDerby Run Series.
Here at AvailableCar, our people are what make the business, and we are so excited for our employees, my colleagues, to share this experience with the other participants. In the run up to the events we will be holding competitions, so please keep your eyes peeled on our social media channels, and look out for AvailableCar there on the day!”
Richard Kay, Race Director of both events, said “off the back of a very difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic, we feel privileged to have the incredible support from a such an established national company on our doorsteps which will add to the quality and race-day experience for the runners. Available Car are enthusiastic to support local sport and local community events and we are delighted to be partnered with them going forward”.
